This course is designed to supplement the high school composition and literature curriculum. Course content may include fiction and non-fiction which includes, but is not limited to, writing prompts, essays, short stories, poetry, and other literary genre. Following modeling and discussion of a literary form, students plan, compose, revise, share and evaluate their writing. This course offers practical experience in artistic creation, as well as an opportunity to improve the mechanics of writing. Projects may be shared with the school community through a Literary Magazine, novels, poetry slams, or other literacy competitions.
